The test over types of government will be tomorrow. I know we just had a test over civilizations, but this was a short unit and does not cover nearly as much material. Be sure to study the study guide and come prepared to show what you know tomorrow.
The Good Life in Mogadore-February
Our students just LOVE going to Speedway to see their favorite worker- Richie. He always has a smile on his face, is willing to help out in any way he can and knows the names of most kids in Mogadore. He is at every sporting event possible rooting for our teams and shares his pride of Mogadore wherever he goes. Richie is a true friend to the kids of Mogadore and because of that we made him our “The Good Life in Mogadore” recipient for the month of February.
Blood and Air Test Tomorrow!
Sorry for the delay in getting it posted (sick kids ALL weekend and why I was out today too), but all students should have brought home a study guide for chapter 13 and a science book in order to study for tomorrow’s test. The book is needed in order to study and students are well aware of this. Happy studying!
Maplewood Field Trip
The students loved (and loved is NOT too strong of a word) their trip to Maplewood. To see Mogadore students succeeding and excelling in programs was a wonderful picture for our students of what the future can look like. Many of Maplewood’s programs are geared toward college prep, including some programs in which the students get college credits. The kids got to meet Dylan Smith and Cole Handley, two students from Mogadore who are both in the carpentry program at Maplewood. They shared their skills with our students and let them experience the program themselves. I can’t share with you enough what a great place Maplewood is and how solid their programs are. I’m sure the kids will be talking about it for quite some time.
Valentine’s Day Party

Civilizations Test
Because we LOVE learning about ancient river valley civilizations, our BIG test over the four civilizations we have studied will be on Wednesday, February 15th. Be sure to study your table (study guide). One is attached just in case you have lost your copy. You have learned so much the past month and I can’t wait for you to show what you know.

Huang He Civilization Quiz
We will have a quiz over our last civilization on Friday. It has been an interesting study of the Yellow River Valley Civilization. Terrace Farming, dynasties and ancestors have filled our days as we have learned how this ancient civilization flourished. The study guide for this quiz is attached. huanghevalleystudyguide
Cell-E-Bration Time!
The students created some amazing cell projects. Almost everyone followed the rubric and had all of the required organelles and functions. Creativity abounded as the students shared their cell projects yesterday. It is so exciting to see the students not only know the information, but take it a step beyond and interpret it using materials from their world.
